The Chesterfield County Police Department is blessed to serve a community that supports its law enforcement officers and values the hard work they do. Not all officers are so fortunate. In some localities, officers are exhausted, demoralized, and in dire need of support. Chesterfield County Police plans on offering this support in the form of a highly untraditional means, this billboard:

The URL at the bottom of the billboard will lead to a page containing a video expressing thanks to and support for officers. Here’s where you come in: CCPD wants to include as many brief messages of thanks and support as we can. If you’re willing, we’re asking that you take a few moments to record a short message of thanks that we can include in our “Thank you” video. Instructions for recording your message are below. Don’t worry about being perfect – just be real. We hope you’ll join us to show appreciation for some of our fellow officers around the country.
We plan on having this up and running by December 21 to benefit from holiday travel traffic – which will be limited, but still plentiful. If you’d like to participate, please send your video to CCPD@chesterfield.gov by noon on Friday, Dec. 18.
Video recording instructions: Hold your phone horizontally. Hit record and pause for a few seconds before you give your message. Then, give your message; speak clearly what you want to say. After you speak, pause again for a few seconds before you stop recording. You may include family/ friends in your video, but please be mindful of COVID-19 considerations. You can send up to three different versions for the production team to choose from. Messages should be no longer than 5 seconds (not including the pauses).
Thanks for your time reading this message, folks.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy week!
